We have analysed three websites below in order to gain more insight into creating a beautiful website for the band.
The first website we looked at is Lana Del Ray's. She is a pop artist, the genre being maybe the one we will choose for our music video as well.
In terms of conventions, the blog has the image of the latest album as the main picture, along with the option ,,listen now". This is an advertising strategy used in order to invite audiences to listen to the latest hit. The background also matches somehow the theme of the album. The sea, in this case, is where the action takes place in the last music video. The menu on the left is composed by gallery, videos, store and newsletter which are pretty general for all band websites. In the right, the social media icons are the pages where the fans can follow the artist and stay tuned.
The next band website is a different genre, rock.
The conventions of this one are slightly different as more emphasis is put on the colours, creativity and giving a sense of craziness to the whole picture. The big image also illustrates the cover of the latest album. The main bar contains kind of the same things as the first website, but the way it looks, bigger and bright, differs. Also, this band also has social media icons where everyone can follow them.
This last website is also a rock one.The conventions are pretty different form the other ones as they are not that sophisticated like the second band but also more complex than the first one.This site has more content pages attached to it than the main four present in the first two websites. The main page also presents the cover of the latest album in really bright colours meanwhile the other pages are more desaturated, most of them having a representative image of the band in different moments.
